Developers Win $100,000 at Intuit Apps Showcase
Innovators Recognized for Web and Mobile Applications That Help Small Businesses Succeed
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (August 12, 2011) – Corelytics has just won the $25,000 grand prize for its financial dashboard application at Intuit Inc.’s (Nasdaq: INTU) first Apps Showcase. In addition, Corelytics will also be featured in a targeted campaign that will promote the app directly to Intuit’s 4.5 million QuickBooks® customers through its many marketing channels. The application, developed by CoreConnex Inc., allows small business owners to monitor key indicators, see visual trends and forecasts and compare performance to their industry peers.
Intuit hosted the event to inspire developers to create Web and mobile applications that build upon the power of QuickBooks data and help small businesses do more with the product. More than 160 developers applied to participate and 30 finalists were chosen to present at the Apps Showcase. The finalists ranged from established brands to start-ups, with 12 of the applications making their public debut at the event.
“We’re thrilled to be part of the Intuit ecosystem and honored to be recognized as an innovative application that will help small businesses succeed,” said Frank Coker, chief executive officer, CoreConnex. “We anticipate that this recognition will propel us even further.”
In addition to Corelytics, three runners-up each received $25,000 prizes. These included Bill.com, the only paperless bill pay service that works with QuickBooks Online, Postcard Services, which offers direct mail marketing tools made specifically for QuickBooks users and Profitably that provides customer analytics and data-driven insights to help small businesses grow.
These winners impressed the panel of judges, which included David Blumberg of Blumberg Capital, Josh Breinlinger of Sigma + Partners, Eric Byunn of FTV Capital, David Hornik of August Capital, David Mars of White Owl Capital Partners, Cindy Padnos of Illuminate Ventures, Cali Tran of NorthBridge Venture Partners and Tomasz Tunguz of Redpoint Ventures. The applications also captured the most audience votes from the event floor and those watching the live stream.
“The Intuit Partner Platform taps the potential of QuickBooks data by helping developers create Web and mobile apps that solve the needs of our customers,” said Dan Wernikoff, vice president and general manager of Intuit’s Financial Management Solutions division. “The Apps Showcase brought this to life and proved how innovative developers can be when they harness the power of QuickBooks data.”
Further information about the finalists is available at http://bit.ly/showcasefinalists. All the applications are also now available through Intuit App Center, where QuickBooks users can find, buy and use apps connected to the Intuit Partner Platform.
