Barcelona, Spain (December 04, 2008) – Openbravo, the leading developer of web-based open source Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Point of Sale (POS) solutions for business, presents its largest community event to date, the Openbravo World Conference, to be held in Barcelona’s NH Constanza April 17-19, 2009.
The conference aims to empower the Openbravo Ecosystem by welcoming community members to share and fuel the growth of the professional open source space surrounding Openbravo technology. To build on its growing momentum, Openbravo decided to organize this global event so community members such as partners, developers, customers and even newcomers can touch base and get a pulse of the latest Openbravo initiatives, while learning how to capitalize on the projects’ continuous evolution. The event will be open and free to all on both World Community Days taking place the weekend of April 18-19, 2009.
Throughout the Openbravo World Conference, attendees will have the chance to meet with Openbravo’s visionaries, share and listen to success stories, learn about future plans, as well as how to create more business and complete successful implementations. Some of the hot topics of the Conference will include modularity and Openbravo 2.50 as key enablers to the development of Openbravo’s community.
The event kicks off with the World Partner Day on April 17, an exclusive day for Openbravo partners, covering in depth business topics, workshops, along with other targeted content.
Important new initiatives are planned for the Openbravo World Conference, distinguishing it from previous events. These include contributions under the form of community speaker slots and sponsorship to increase the value provided. Until January 31, 2009, Openbravo will be accepting applications for its call-for-papers, so industry field experts and key contributors can share their knowledge about Openbravo related topics, thus enlarging the scope of the Conference.
Manel Sarasa, CEO of Openbravo, said, “We are very excited about the Openbravo World Conference as this is going to be the largest event we’ve hosted to date. This Conference is yet another initiative set forth to keep encouraging our community’s involvement, an area which we feel very strongly about. We also very much look forward to celebrating our 2008 achievements with everyone, and presenting the latest innovations in store for Openbravo”.
