Eclipse Group Accounting Software Reduces Month-End Processes

Oakam, a retail based financial services provider, recently implemented SunSystems financial accounting and business management software from the Eclipse Group.

The SunSystems implementation has allowed Oakam to reduce its financial month end processes by 50 percent and has decreased the time it takes to produce month end accounts from 10 days to less than 5.

Oakam mainly focuses on providing short- to medium-term loans to people who have a slightly lower credit rating or none at all and therefore struggle to get credit from more traditional sources.

Before selecting SunSystems, Oakam was using Sage Line 50 for its accounting purposes. Lindsay Burrett, the Financial Controller at Oakam, said the Sage Line 50 wasn’t able to offer the levels of functionality that their growing business required.

Oakam invited three companies to bid for the business when they decided to implement new financial accounting software, including the Eclipse Group. According to Burrett, the company was looking for a specialist provider who could not only recommend the most suitable solution for our company, but that could also provide in-depth training and guidance on how to use the software effectively.

Burrett said Eclipse really impressed them with their knowledge and understanding of the SunSystems solution and how it could best meet their business requirements. The company felt that their solutions really stood out from the competition.

Burrett highlighted another clearly noticeable advantage of SunSystems: speed. With this platform, staff now has more time to focus on analyzing accounting information rather than getting bogged down in manual administration tasks.
