UNIT4 Business Software, the UK division of UNIT4, the world’s leading provider of ERP for fast changing organisations, today announced that it is sponsoring People & Planet’s Green League 2010 which will be announced in the Times Higher Education supplement on Thursday, June 10th.
The People & Planet’s Green League 2010, which measures and ranks the green credentials of 139 UK universities, is organised by student groups at universities, colleges and schools, plus many other individual supporters. UNIT4 is the leading supplier of business software to Higher Education and more than 75 UK universities are clients, so the company has a history of involvement in initiatives such as this. UNIT4 is also investing heavily in its own environmental solutions and will shortly announce a significant offering that will help universities and other organisations measure and improve environmental performance.

UNIT4 was also impressed by the rigorous and comprehensive criteria by which the universities were judged. People & Planet’s Green League takes a dual approach to environmental management; it looks at both commitment to systemic improvement and at actual performance. The performance indicators reveal how well an institution is performing on the ground. The management and policy criteria demonstrate whether an institution has a systematic means of improving its performance.
In 2009 six of the top ten universities in People & Planet Green League were UNIT4 customers.
